ABOUT Sima Shayo

Sima Shayo was born in Cairo, Egypt shortly thereafter she immigrated with her parents to Israel.

Sima started painting in 1965 as a member of the Art Centre located in the heart of the old city of Jaffa, Israel . Later she enrolled at the Art Academy of Bat-Yam in Israel where she studied under Aharon Alkaly.

​

She has participated in group shows at the Art Center of Holon Israel and had an Art Show in 1981 sponsored by the Rotary Club and the municipality of Holon, Israel.

Sima came to Canada in 1983 and soon moved to Thornhill. She was a member of the Thornhill group of Artist and the Richmond Hill group of Artist.

​

Sima has participated in numerous  successful art shows in Toronto and is a member of the Water Colour Society.

 Painting is a very important part in her daily life. She expresses herself through painting scenes from her environment, in watercolour, acrylic, pastels and oil. 

​

Sima’s love of nature is evident in her work as she enjoys creating  beautiful landscapes in several media. Her paintings hang in numerous private collections and are available for viewing at art shows host from time to time.
